Homework due for class on 11/28

1. Rough draft of Persuasive Essay. We will be doing peer review during class, and you will need to attach the peer reviews to your final draft (you will receive credit for these).
2. Journal Entry #18: Find a news article online that talks about an issue going on in the country today that encourages you to choose a side. Write a response as to why this article has either persuaded you to change or modify your stance on something, incited you to act and do something, or has inspired you to come up with a solution.

Note: Your Final Portfolio with your 4 essays and Journals will be due Monday, December 10. This will be the last day of class.

Homework due for class on 11/21

1. Analytical Essay is due at the beginning of class. Make sure that you cited your 4 sources (1 book source, 1 magazine/news article source, 3 internet sources) and include a Works Cited page (refer to Chapter 32 for MLA formatting).
2. Journal Entry #17: Propose a Solution to a problem in our society(make sure this is persuasive writing and not explanatory. Refer to Chapter 20 for help)
3. Journal Entry #16: Persuade Your Readers To Act on a national hot topic (refer to chapter 19 for help)

Homework due for class on 11/12

1. 2nd Draft of your Analytical Essay is due. Bring this to class with you, we will be doing peer review during class and you will receive credit for this.
2. Read Chapter 18 pages 275-278. Be ready to discuss the questions on page 278 in class.
3. Journal Assignment #15: Use chapter 18 as your guide and share your position on issue. Write about why "...this is what I believe, and this is why I believe it." It could be a current issue going on in society. Again use chapter 18 as a guide.
