We will not be meeting in class this day. This time has been dedicated to researching your topic that you will be writing your Analytical Essay on. Please use the resources at your disposal, the Library on campus is one of those. See you all in class on Monday, November 5.

1. Read Chapter 15 pages 229-232, answering questions 1 and 3 on page 232. Read Chapter 16 pages 243-246, answering questions 1 and 2 on page 246.
2. Journal Entry #12: Use Classification to classify something in your life. You can classify your time, friends, family, etc.
3. Pick your topic and writing style you want to use for your Analytical Essay. You will need to get your topic and writing approved on Monday. I will be posting a list of potential topics this weekend. You can choose one of the list or come up with your own.

1. Your Narrative Essay on your personal story of how you ended up pursuing a college degree. This story will cover moments that shaped your decision, internal conflict in deciding what course to pursue in your life, people that helped influence you to make this decision, etc. The essay needs to be between 1 1/2 to 2 pages, no longer. I will be grading on length, structure/organization, content, and grammar. This is due at the beginning of class.
2. Journal Assignment: Write a journal entry about cause and effect.
3. Read Chapter 12 pages 183-187 and be ready to discuss the answers to the question on page 187.

1. Rewrite your draft of your story of how you ended up at college. Bring it to class for peer review.
2. Journal Assignment #8: Respond to this ARTICLE on adults behaving badly at sporting events. Share your thoughts, opinions, and if possible a story that you can relate.

     5:30 Class: Write a reflection journal on why you have a certain point of view of something. Share a story from you past that illuminates why you think or believe a certain way. Use page 180 Critical-Thinking and Writing Activity question #1 as reference.

     7:00 Class: You will use a topic from the presidential debate we watched in class. You will write a reflection journal and share a story of why you fall on one side or the other of one of the topics that the two candidates discussed. The story will show your point of view of why you think that way.

2. Bring your 2nd rough draft of your personal narrative to class for peer review.

1. Read Chapter 11, pages 165-170. Answering questions 2 & 4 on page 168, and questions 1 & 3 on page 170.
2. Write your first draft of your Narrative Essay, "Why you are here at college today", and bring it to class. You will receive credit for bringing it and we will also be doing some peer review. Remember this essay is telling the story of what helped you make the decision to pursue a degree.
